Why are the prices on my listing automatically changing? e.g. on the calendar it says $70 per night, on the website front page $53 and then when I do a test booking it comes out at $39 per night?
Very frustrating, I would like to use instant book, but I can't while the prices are different.
Any ideas?
Thank you
Hi I'm quite new to hosting and I noticed these changes in prices also. I think it has to do with what curency you have selected when you set up your listing and a different display currency. The display defaults to USD's or EUROs or something. I changed mine to display NZD's to match my listing.
There's a drop down menu at the bottom of the page where you choose the currency you want.
Hope this helps
Cheers J.
It does indeed look like the wrong sort of $. From your screenshot it shows $ which means USD. I assume you would want SGD - this would show at the top as $ SGD. Change the currency to the kind of $$ you would want and I think you will be sorted.
Hi There,
I have similar issue. Just wanted to send a special offer but the subtotal amount that I need to change is shown in EUR and my listings are in CAD, so what am I supposed to write as amount? Do I need to conver from CAD to EUR and why is it showing EUR at all when I am in Canada and I set my currency as CAD?
Thanks!
Vanya&Georgi
Go to the bottom of the page and change currency to the one you want.
We are new hosts and find the website very frustrating. I've had to go into it about 8 times to complete, and that was over several days because it just froze and I gave up and went to the beach. 😕 Now we've had our first guest book - on the instant booking thing, which we did opt for but I think our 190euros got translated somehow along the line, obviously with the default (although i know I put in Euros) returning to U.S.$ It shouldn't have a default. It should be left blank and throw you a message block saying 'which currency do you want?'
I wonder if anyone from Airbnb reads these? They are impossible to reach!
In my opinion, the Airbnb "Smart" Pricing is anything but. It recommends prices anywhere from 40-60% of the true market value of my listings. I have used many different automatic pricing softwares, and they are all worth the small 1% fee (you're almost doubling your income), and can recommend Beyond Pricing as by far the best service. Use this link for a free trial of their service, no credit card or payment needed: https://beyondpricing.com.
The $53 price is most likely the first baseline price you chose for your listing, and the price that will show *if no dates are entered.* If you've changed pricing on certain dates, that doesn't show unless those dates are selected. You most likely have overlapping discount conditions of the $30 booking rate was a surprise, I.e. a week discount on top of a custom weekly price. Always use dates in your searches you see what comes up correctly, and try to dabble with one new pricing feature at a time.
