I was horrified (and probably naive) when my repeat guest informed me that in some areas there are so few Air BnB rooms available that regular bookers often leave poor reviews to put off other people so they stand more chance of it being available for their own needs. In his case he says he has left me a very nice review and would'nt be so selfish - but who knows? It could be a double bluff. I recently lost my Superhost status in spite of 60 plus excellent reviews due to one very poor rating following a dreadful guest who trashed my house and flooded the bathroom with faeces (long story). I then discover that repeaters (and one-offs) who don't leave a review at all show up as a zero rating. It all seems very unfair to me. I wonder what others think about all this? Diane
I think bookers which leave poor reviews will not turn into regulars, as hosts don't want them back.
I did not experience people not leaving a review are affecting my ratings.
But i think the review system itself must change,as it is obsolete.
Best regards,
Emiel

Pshaw. If someone left me a 3-star review and then instant booked a return visit, I would be on the phone with AirBNB in a hurry to have the reservation canceled. I think most hosts would do the same.
