I once had three American girls visiting India for the first time staying with me for 4 nights. I just cannot get over how they looked when they arrived home from the airport .... shocked, scared, worried and shaken up!!! Let me explain why ..... 🙂 🙂
While they were coming home from the airport in a cab, just about the end of my block they had a super experience!! The car had slowed down at the signal and they had this bike coming from nowhere from the left straight into the front door of the car, one of the girls was seated right there! It banged into the car and flew off some 20feet off the ground!! Now what was more fascinating was this bike came without a rider ............ imagine the site and imagine their plight!! On getting off and checking the rider was not to be seen anywhere!!
They reached home soon after this and were almost like 3 shrivelled up mice, totally shaken up!!! I welcomed them in not knowing what had happened. After they sat and had taken a sip from their welcome drink, they curiously ask me, “Is it common in India to have riderless bikes flying across the roads???” I was quiet amused at their Q but then later learnt what had happened!!! It sure did shock me as well .... never had I experienced such a thing and these poor girls had to go through it!!
Anyways let me tell you what may have actually happened. I enquired the next day and was told some kids were trying wheelies on that road and one of them must have lost control and let go off the bike after accelerating it!! The guy obviously ran from the scene so was never found!! 🙂 🙂
It took them more than 48 hours to get over it and actually laugh about how freaky an accident it was!!!!! 🙂
