Any host in Quebec can help me? I tried to open a request of permit but got declined. The letter is attached.
Anything I can do now?
Thanks.
Not to be a smart ass, but... What did you do with your rental property before AirBnB was invented? I would do that.
I've been doing this for fourteen years. It's getting old, and so am I. If the town decided tomorrow to make short term rentals illegal, I probably wouldn't even bother to attend a commissioners meeting to protest or voice opposition. I'd put long term tenants into my apartments and go on vacation.
It's a lot of work. You should look at that letter as a blessing. Embrace it. Look around. Find something else you'd like to do, and do it.
P.S. Under Section 12 of the act, I would forward the following observations. It was a beautiful day today. I went to the Hardware Store again to get supplies. While waiting at the traffic light I observed a big white bird. It flew past my windshield, and landed in a bush. It walked all over that bush peering in, looking for something. It didn't find what it was looking for. Just before the light changed I observed the bird jump off the bush, and walk away. It didn't appear to have a care in the world.
This reminds of the old saying: 'Easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission'. Not sure it applies, but nonetheless it came to mind.
@Fred13 Depending upon where you are, that forgiveness might be temporary, and issued in the form of a fine.
Also depending where you are in the form of a bribe. LoL
