Typing problems in Airbnb Messages

Hi everyone !

I wanted to share with you technical problems in typing when writing Airbnb messages to guests.

For example, when I type words, letters like a, e o are constantly more all less "eaten" so that my words and phrases look like this: " I m loking frwrd mting you ll... etc etc That drives me crazy !

Does anybody have a clue about this technical issue ?

P.S. When writing this question I had no problems of that kind 🙂

It is possible that it is a problem with the Airbnb site. Two days ago another host posted that the program was not keeping up with her typing. If she types a passage in 'Word' it was fine, but when she typed the same passage in Airbnb bits of it were missing!

So you have possibly now confirmed this, that there is something which is slowing down the Airbnb system to accept data.

If this is of concern to you and it is causing you issues, perhaps type what you wish to say in 'Word' and copy it to wherever you want on Airbnb!

Of course, being like 'Woddy Woodpecker' this problem will never happen to me. My problem is I am so slow that the letters start to stiffen up by the time I get to hit them!!   🙂

Problem is that I have many inquiries and that it is too complicated to write messages in Word and then to paste it all the time...

I would like that Airbnb will fix it since I pay their services through fees and this is what certainly affects quality level of services I receive...

this is happening to me too! I have to type everything in Word and then paste, which is becoming really annoying with all the inquiries I get.  I hope there's a fix soon!

I expect from Airbnb to fix that problem since I find them world's top level site in touristic domain and this experience affects my experience with Airbnb in negative way...

I hope someone from Airbnb company will see this message...

@Žarko0  This forum/community board is not monitored by anyone from Airbnb.  It's a forum for hosts to share info.  The best way to get Airbnb to pay attention is to tweet them.

 

It's ridiculous that there isn't any kind of Bug Feedback system, but that's how it goes....

I asked a colleague to tweet. It's been tweeted. Can everyone following this post #RT it?

This same problem started with my messages about one week ago. I contacted AirBnB to inform them of the problem since I suspected a virus - The typing and missing letters were only on AirBnB and no other programs on my computer. I've heard nothing back from AirBnB.

 

It's a major nuisance. I'm reduced to typing at the level of someone who has never seen a keyboard. For the money that they charge, AirBnB should have IT working day and night to remedy the problem.

AirBnB saw my post on Twitter (my first ever) and contacted me. Their solution is to use the program on Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. This did solve the problem. I can type a message without gaps.

Thanks for the feedback about this issue. Can I ask which browser you are using when you experience this problem with typing? Also, is this on the app or desktop?

 

We recommend that you use Google Chrome or Firefox for the Airbnb website, as it is not optimised with Internet Explorer and other browsers. If you have been using other browsers, try with Chrome or Firefox and see if it works properly.

It's nice to see that I/we are not just tying in the void, but that someone at AirBnB looks at the threads. I had to tweet to get a response at first.

Well you're all better off than me you guys. I simply can't send messages....Not every time but with increasing regularity each time I try to send a message it simply disappears never to be seen again by me ot anyone else and the following message get displayed on the bottom of the screen.......Lizzie response.png

This started happening with a reply to @Annette & Curtis about 5 weeks ago and has now got to the point where I do not try to respond to messages any more. People are starting to think I am ignoring them!

I am using Google Chrome and the trouble is not happening anywhere else, just in CC messages.

I have already spopken with @Lizzie about it and she is doing a bit of checking on her end but, is anyone else having this problem?
