Hi everyone !
I wanted to share with you technical problems in typing when writing Airbnb messages to guests.
For example, when I type words, letters like a, e o are constantly more all less "eaten" so that my words and phrases look like this: " I m loking frwrd mting you ll... etc etc That drives me crazy !
Does anybody have a clue about this technical issue ?
P.S. When writing this question I had no problems of that kind 🙂
Thanks !

Thanks for letting me know that Chrome works @Janet19 and @Outlet0! It's really useful to get your feedback.
@Robin4 I know that Lizzie has been investigating some issues with the messaging system, we'll see if we can get it sorted out! Do let us know if you continue to have problems (and when writing messages it's a good idea to copy it before pressing send just in case!)

I wonder whether this might be the source of the problem. I've been running Microsoft Security Essentials close to every day recently and almost every time it finds this security risk: Trojan: Win32Rundas!plock.
When I've Googled the thing I found that the blocked keyboard might be caused by it. See:
I have yet to follow all the recommendations to eliminate the trojan completely.

That's interesting, @Outlet0, thanks for sharing your discovery! It's really helpful if others are also experiencing the same thing.
I hope you can get rid of the Trojan!

I am having problems replying to guests because the typing isn't working properly. It is very frustrating. I thought it was my laptop so I am relieved to see others are having the same problem and it's not me.
I hope it will be resolved
Hi @Mary-Ann1,
I'm not sure if you saw @Outlet0's post above where he said what we worked out was causing his problem with typing? Some others in this thread also found that using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as the browser instead of Internet Explorer works.
I hope one of those solutions helps! Let us know how you get on!
Kirstie
Internet Explorer has been a real problem of late. Do try Google Chrome. You can also try clearing your browser history and cache.
Ralph/OUTLET
Thanks @Outlet0 (Ralph)!
Yes the Airbnb website is most compatible with Chrome and Firefox, so it is best to avoid Internet Explorer
Kirstie
Kirstie,
Will this be fixed in Internet Explorer? I do not have Chrome and Firefox at work and to be a responsive host, I would rather type using my fingers on a keyboard than thumbs in my phone app. I need Internet Explorer to be able to do this.
BTW, the typing has been just fine in this community board... it's only in the Messages section that the typing is an issue.
Alicia
I agree with Alicia,
I would prefered this to be fixed with Internet Explorer as browser.
I do not have typing problems in any other situation but in message section of Airbnb.
Touristic season is getting closer and I still can not answer to my guests like it should be done - easily and fast as it was before with no typing and lost letter issues...
Thank you for understanding Kirstie !

I understand that Internet Explorer may be the best browser for you to use for other purposes and I will pass on your feedback about wanting to get this issue resolved with that browser. Unfortunately at the moment, aspects of the Airbnb site are less compatible with Internet Explorer than other browsers so if you are able to download Firefox or Google Chrome and use that in the meantime that would be best.
I'm sorry I'm not able to be of more help!
Kirstie
So how many users worldwide use Internet Explorer?? Quite a few. Therefore I find it totally unacceptable that Airbnb cannot (will not?) fix the major time consuming and irritating typing problems for IE-users. It annoys me every time I have to write a message, a reply to requests, update info etc. I guess the result will be that one day a new supplier will offer what Airbnb can't.
Looking at all the comments, it is about time Airbnb responds to their users frustrations and honest feedback, and fix the problems!
