Very low pricing that doesn't exist

I have a neighbor and others offering a lowball prices like $9.00, $10.00 night rate per night but has a 2 night minimum. You click anywhere on the calender and it's $9.00, $10.00. But when you go and click the 2 day dates to book the $9.00, $10.00  and goes up to $144.00-$154.00 x 2 night. The $9.00, $10.00 price disappears. I've called Airbnb and talked to on the phone and went through 5 customer service reps and they can't tell me a **bleep** thing. They don't know how the host's are doing this on thier website. They don't have a clue. This is really a bait and switch used buy here pay here tactic. Can anyone help please.

You choose a random day in a month, usually a non-peak time like Tuesday or Wednesday, set the low ball price. Guests searched without any filter would see this lowest price. Similar trick for those who set low ball rates alongside with a tremendous cleaning fee.

However, I personally won't go this way. Makes guests feel like being fooled.

No.. I know that. I do that now. But you can click on anyday of the month on this hosts calender and it comes up as $9 but you have to book a 2 day minimum. Soon as you click on the calender for you second day the $9 goes away and it's now $144 x 2 nights...   I'm a superhost and am very very good about everything but this doesn't make since how they can do this.

Here is the posting.. Also she seems to be able to chaange automatically the minimum nights from one month to another. She usually runs a 2 night minumui but in July she has a 5 night minimum. She seems to have found a way to have more control of her pricing then I do????

@Mylene11 I've checked the calendar and assume it's 28 May on that low ball price. When I choose check-in date on 28 May and can't find any available date to check out. He should have set minimum nights during this period or blocked some dates so that no booking can be placed.

@Joy298 the price for 28 May is 78€ and you can book it if you check in on the 27th. She has random dates every month priced at 9€ and I am guessing she has some system in which she decides for prices on each day since each day is different.

She doesn't have random dates at 10.00.. All nights are 10.00 for every day in May and June but when you go to click you check out day the 10.00 disapears and it's now 144.00 or 152.00 or 189.00 x 2 nights now and the 10.00 disapears????  I just don't think you get it...

@Mylene11 the host does nothing, that is how Airbnb works. The host has some dates for those prices and Airbnb automatically shows the lowest price. When you click on specific dates you get the price for those dates, next time when you search for properties select specific dates to get the price and don't blame your neighbor for things he has no control over (or if he does it on purpose that is his business, he can do whatever he wants). I find it so hard to understand why people waste their time trying to harm others.. if you believed your neighbor was doing something wrong why not tell him first before "reporting" him to Airbnb.

I have talked to them ans she just says, Well I'm just good..

@Mylene11 I just checked and she has different prices for every day, from 9€ up to 366€. She clearly has set it up herself and she has every right to do so. I don't know what seems to be the problem here... Airbnb displays the prices that way, you should complain to them about their way of displaying prices and not about your neighbors. And as far as I can see you are booked solid until December.. how does this influence your bookings that you want it solved.

I just want a leveled playing field... And I have asked her and she just says she is good...  I don''t know what you are clicking on but every night when you click on the first night of your say it all say 10.00 a night with a date of 6-4-19 to 6-6-2019. But when you click on you checkout day for the 2 day minimum  the 10.00 disapperars and goes to 119.00??????? The reason this started it when we went to vaca in Florida we clicked on a place that did the same thing. Then I researched our home area I found a neighbor doing this as well... This is nothing but a bait ans switch tactic... I was mad as a guest first. But if Airbnb is going to allow hosts to do this I just I have to join them.

@Mylene11 I look at her calendar and I can see each individual price for every day. That said, no you don't have to join them. Most guests would book a place where they know what can expect starting with price. Never ever in life you are going to have a leveled playing field, you are a successful Superhost and you can keep up the good work since your prices seem to work well for you. Let every host run their business however they see fit. The energy you are wasting trying to teach your neighbor a lesson use it for trying to improve your business.

I really don't want to join this kind of tactics but she does some other things with pricing that would benfit me like.. In May and June she has a 2 day minimum and in July sha has a 5 day minimum???? Just want some more control with my pricing. We should have access to have a 2 day pricing and a 3 day pricing. I have to do a 3 day minimum for make it worth my time wich I could do a higher 2 day minimum at a hight price. I'm missing the boat on people seeing my sight cause I don't have a 2  day minimum... Just want more control and some other hosts have found away to do this. Airbnb doesn't have a clue how these hosts are doing it??

@Mylene11 you can change the minimum stay too, you can set higher minimum for weekends or during high season for example. As to your neighbor, she has the price for monday 9€, tuesday and wednesday 200€ for example and thursday again 9€ and if the minimum is 2 nights you will either choose monday or tuesday od wednesday and thursday and it always comes 209€ for example.. of course people can choose mon tues and wedn but it will be more expensive. This is just an example of what I saw on her listing... she sure has figured her pricing out and she won't tell you. Airbnb simply don't care to explain to you. You can set up discounts for three or five days and you will atract more guests for longer stays with your current prices. There are many many options with pricing and many articles online on how to achieve better pricing.
