Weird guest...feel unsafe

She just checked in this afternoon and has been acting weird. She just asked me if i read anything on Facebook about Japanese suicide and than she laughed and said she is not crazy. Also said she knows me and my boyfried from the local YMCA when we have never been out there.

She than asked me if i had a house phone to use to call Yangoon as she has no credit. Told her guests dont use my house phone. The supermarket downstairs sells pre paid calling cards.

She's just come out of the room and placed her glass back in my kitchen cabinet. She was rather rough. I am totally freaking out here. She's like in some zombie state of mind. I want to ask her to leave and arrange a refund via airbnb.

There's just something not right about this guest. Can someone please just tell me how they've dealt with a situation similar to mine ?

TIA

You have made an error.  You have allowed an unknown person into your home for a MONTH.  You are now having "buyer's remorse".  You should have handled it much better and you are now in the process of learning that fact.  If you are going to continue to have long running guests you had better learn to vet them better or take them in for a short period of time and see how they work out.

Either way, you have now got a decision to make that is ... Evidently difficult for you.

Let the guest stay and suck it up and deal with the weirdness.

Boot them out and cancel the reservation and deal with the blocked dates and the fines.

If you're uneasy about your guest, get them out. It's your home, you should be comfortable.

Your safety (and sanity) are worth far more than reviews and stars which you can always explain. I have zero tolerance for drama, primarily because I have a child at home, so your guest would've been gone based on the first few sentences you wrote alone if it were me.

Good luck!

Maybe she's on drugs; or self medicating for depression/anxiety, that would be my concern.

I have 2 x women/girls  check in ..seem very intrusive and loud and messy.  I am here on my own and there are rules stipulated that guests do not come upstairs - huh I get out of the shower and thankfully changed and the one that booked is upstairs ....they are now banging doors and very loud ...never had this before ?  Feeling scared.
