What size comforter for guests?

I just found this great comforter (rated for 40 degrees) but it is only 68x72.   The other ones are about 68x80.    Should I get a massive one?  

I don't know if guests really use them but what if I get someone really tall?  is 72 inches okay? That's 6 ft.

How long is your bed?

72" is six feet. You figure someone will pull the comforter up at most to their chin, so that leaves another 6 or 8 inches for the person's head. Therefore a 72" comforter would still fit a person to 6' 6" or 6" 8". Although there are many people this height and taller, they would be used to not having everything fit exactly.

As for asthetics, an 80" comforter fits nicely around a bed and looks better in my opinion. We use king-size comforters on the queen beds in one of our homes because they just look nicer.
