I have been eligible for superhost for quite a while now, and it always shows the assement date (first was May, then it changed to July 1st and now that July 1st has come it has moved to July 14th).
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to trigger something on my end?
Thanks
Hi Anne, the current super host assesment is from July 1st to July 14th (it takes them within that time frame to go through everyone numbers and report whether or not a host makes the cut) Sometimes we may see your results before the end of the assessment date depending on when they get to you. I also believe super host occurs every couple of months I.e someone could have lost their status in April and get it back in July.
@Anne-And-Cameron0 I was REALLY hoping to get the badge on July 1st becasue of host saturation, pressure to use intant book and relax cancellation policies, AND decline in reservations. Given the sophisticated algorithms, status change should be easier.
1.) the superhost review period runs for a whole year - that is what Airbnb bases their requirements on, such as needing 10 completed trips by guesrts, 90% response rate, etc..
2.) the review comes up every quarter, such as the current one under assessment ended June 30, next one will end on Sept. 30.
3.) The assessment itself takes about 10-14 days, thus the assessment for the period that just finished June 30 will be over July 14 - that is when you can expect your badge .
I am sure you are getting the badge this time, as it sure looks to me like you satisfied all requirements. Congrats!
4.) Nobody has to actually wait to see what Airbnb will do - you can check it all yourself under your stats, scroll down to hosting standards and something like this comes up:
you can scroll down further and it gives you an idea what it looks like for the upcoming quarter:
So there it is.... they are reassessing each quarter so that hosts who missed superhost because of a cancellation they once did (then commitment rate is not the required 100% any longer) , or a terrible review they got which lowered their 5star rating under 80% , etc.., can eventually move up when these things drop off after a year. So that is fair. Keep in mind that the required "5 star trips" only counts the "overall" stars guests give.
Overall, I'd like to add that I am not happy to even have this superhost thing in place: I know, I know.... lots of hosts want it badly and take pride in it. But really, it only creates a LOT of anxieties, aggravation when one gets a 4 star review, etc.. to the point that hosts get stressed out and forget to simply enjoy hosting. And all that for what?? To get that lil badge showing on one's profile? Guests don't even know what it means! Also, it makes no difference in the visibility or better placement of one's listings! Yes, one is supposed to get a voucher for an Airbnb stay or so after a year of being superhost, that is the only tangible benefit I can see. But that isn't worth the constant anxieties I see here in the forums about not getting that 5 star review. So really, the whole thing is put in place by Airbnb to keep hosts docile and in line, like getting that gold star in Kindergarten....
Please note that I say all this being a superhost myself with nothing but impeccable 5 star reviews. I simply want a less stressful environment for my fellow hosts, that's all. I don't need that badge to prove I am a good host, and I advocate that my fellow hosts make themselves independent of that race for superhost and just focus on Happy Hosting!
I'm with you, @Annette33. I'm at Super Host status. The skies didn't part and the gods didn't come down to take me to a fabulous sushi dinner.
This Super Host is still scrubbing toilets and washing towels.
Nothing super about that. 😛
Let's go back to the good ol' days where we just had fun talking smack, getting a good night's sleep, and we were happy nothing in the toilet jumped up to bite us.
woohoo, @Wendy-and-Frank0 , you are seeing the light 🙂 >> and posted a very enlightening ( and funny!!) take on it all... way to go sistahh... now back to scrubbing toilets..
Funny you should say that....cleaning toilets is about the only duty Adrienne can still do! She can't make the beds, she can't vacumm floors and carpets, she can't dust the bookshelves. She can however sit on her walker and clean the 'bog', so, guess what? I don't take the wind out of her sails....I let her do it! I am such a SNAG, such a considerate individual letting her be involved like that....hahaha
The other day at Meals on Wheels a group of us were talking about what we do for our partners and one woman said...
"Rob you are a SNAG", and I thought, 'ok, here we go, want sort of slant is she going to put on this'! And she said "You know, sensitive new age guy", and I thought....dogged a bullet there! She went on to say....
"My husband Dan, he's a CHOP" to which we all said, 'ok, you have got us in, what's a chop?'
She said..."He's a Chauvinisic, Hedonistic, Oppressive, Pri*k"!!!
Cheers.....Rob
