Wrong Deposit from airbnb

Hi.

I just noticed that I have received a deposit from airnbn for someone who I don't have a reservation with. I clicked the reservation number to see who this is but the screen tells me there is no reservation under that number. Could you please advise with me what to do with this? I appreciate your support! Could this be a scam/phishing attempt?

I ask because Airbnb don't use deposits - the guest pays them in full when they book and Airbnb pay you in full 24 hours after check in.

Hi, Enda.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. My transaction history on airbnb shows this deposit and I also received an E-mail from airbnb saying "We've issued you a payout of $633 via Bank Transfer."

How strange! 

Have you actually received the money into your bank account? 

If so, you could let them know (through the site) that there has been a mix up. I always get a bit cautious about any messages about bank accounts - there have been a few cases of scammers using very convincing emails and fake sites.
