cancellations

I was disapointed when a guest cancelled a 17 day booking with no reason and no appology stating whe may rebook sometime. I dont want to book her in is there anyway I can block her from rebooking? I have only a moderate cancellation policy so she was given a full refund but it sounds like she wouldve been given a full refund regardless. Im only new

@Wendy577 I wouldn't worry about that booking - maybe something really came up -and since they don't know you personally often people don't feel the need to explain........just maybe they see that someone lives right NEXT door and that was too close. Who knows.  You could message and ask and maybe they have an answer for you. "So sorry you had to cancell your stay, we do hope there was no great emergency in your family, best regards," or something like that if you really have to know. 

I'm not so sure you can block them with no reason - you can flag them, I suppose. Usually when we give a person 3* or below that will keep them from rebooking possibility and a thumbs down. 

I'm sure other hosts will know the exact answer for you Wendy. But, I would say any cancellation before is better than during or after the stay and demanding a refund.

Thanks Clara, thats good advice which I'll take on board. Its just a bit annoying to me especially as I booked into a Sydney hotel which was so bad we couldnt stay there and had to book somewhere else but wasnt able to get a refund. Other than this Ive had great guests and experiences.
