The request will drop off after 24 hours. There has been one time that I noticed one of my requests from a guests didnt' drop off so I called Airbnb to ask about this. They were able to take care of it in one minute so it was all done. You can choose DECLINE but keep in mind that choosing DECLINE too many times will affect your rates.
Also, heres a helpful tip. Many of your particular questions can be answered by typing that question in the HELP search bar on the Airbnb help site. In case you want an answer faster. When I became a new host 8 months ago, I was typing in so many questions into the help search bar that totally answered my question that I rarely had to post a question here. I promise you that many people have asked this particular question a few times, so Airbnb posted a help article to address it. Good Luck and Happy Hosting....
