hosting in Texas

Hi, I'm getting ready to list our beach house in South Texas and have a few questiions that a Texas host might be able to help me with.  Did you have to list your property with the State?  What department and did you have to have a business name or just your own names?  Have you purchased your own liability insurance or just relied on AirBnB's insurance?  Any other info would be great.  Thanks.  Maria at tdy1 at aol
