infrared hotplates for heating teapot/coffee carafe

I'm trying to streamline my space. I want to eliminate the drip coffee maker in favor of instant Starbucks VIA and a greater ability to have hot water for tea. I've looked at electric kettles, and for what you pay, it seems you don't get much that's user friendly or you overpay for simply heating up water. We've looked at infrared hotplates, and we know people who have them and use them daily for personal use. I'm wondering about the feasability of having one that could be put in the guest room for use in heating a tea kettle. The cost is about the same, but then it could be used by me for other things as well.

Does anyone else do this? Is it an invitation for people to cook in the bedroom?

you think something like this one from ikea?

they can't cook if you don't offer pots and pans but I would opt for electric kettle. There are cheap models as well , you don't have to buy an expensive one.

Kettle. That's enough.

Isn't the cost of an infrared hotplate and an electric kettle more or less the same???? Actually an electric kettle is probably cheaper. For guest use, I suggest you go with a stainless steel electric kettle. There are plenty to choose from at the $30-range.

Yes there are. I was thinking about usefulness to me between guests and after I leave Air Bnb. I did, however, just buy a 1 liter kettle that boils water dates than the store. I'm going to test it out today.
