price / fee surprise

Hi,

I had a guest stay for one night on the weekend. It all went well but there was a disappointing aspect for them.

They chose my place based on the advertised fee but then questioned why, between the stage of asking me questions about the place and then booking it, the price seemed to have gone up by 20%. He thought I might have increased the price as the conversation proceeded and was disapoointed I'd done that.

I was later able to tell him I had not and it was only later he realised that the extra was the Airbnb fee. Is that a new thing, to not have included the fee in the advertised rate?

When a guest books, Airbnb CLEARLY shows them the exact price they will pay including the Airbnb service fee and cleaning fee (if you added it).  In order to make the booking they would have agreed to this.  They need to contact Airbnb direct if they believe a mistake was made otherwise do not be conned into giving any refund.
