rebooking

I have a guest who booked for a monthly term. He changed his dates but the wrong month was put in, which made it look like a 1 day booking. When we realised what had gone wrong he tried to change it for the correct date, but when he tried the site said he could not book the room under $10 per night. As this is a monthly rental, the room does not work out at $10 per night. He tried to cancel and rebook, but he would incur a cancelation fee. Any suggestions on how he can re-book the room with the correct dates and prices at the monthly rate
