reservation request expired twice even though I accepted

reservation request expired twice even though I accepted

Twice recently I accepted a reservation request. For some reason the "acceptance" did not go through and I got the message that it had expired, which apparently affects my search rankings and status. On a third case I got ther request through and replied with a message. My understanding is that is enough to stop the clock ticking, but while waiting for a response I again for the message that the request had expired.

This sounds like bugs. Am I doing something wrong? And most importantly, can I challenge and undo the impact on my status and search ranking?

thanks

There is a difference between a reservation and an enquiry. The clock will stop ticking once you respond to an enquiry and it will not affect you if you do not pre-approve or decline due to pending information.

However with a request to book, you need to accept or decline otherwise after the 24hours have expired then those dates will get blocked in your calendar; although you should be able to go into your calendar and individually unblock them.

If you are accepting reservation requests which are not being passed on to the guest then you should contact Airbnb as not only does it affect your ranking eventually, you are also losing potential business. Click on the link for contact options - Contact Airbnb

Hope you get it resolved soon too,

I have had problems with accepting and pre-approvals. I am very sure that I pre-approved one guest but when randomly checking my messages folder a day later I noticed that the 24 hour period to accept or decline an "inquiry" had passed and my response rate went to 97% from 100% (for the past three years).

Even worse than that, I declined an "inquiry" from a guest because the guest would not have been happy at my listing, and two minutes later received a reservation "request" from the same guest!

In my opinion, Airbnb is having some major site issues. I tried calling and emailing, to no avail. I get directed to Airbnb's help pages!
