strict cancellation refund

Hello, I'm new to hosting and just seeking confirmation about when to refund my part for a cancellation:

Even though I have a "strict" cancellation policy, I'd like to refund the full amount to a guest who has just cancelled for his trip 2.5 months from now. Since he already cancelled on the Airbnb site, he has already been refunded 50%, correct?   I should WAIT UNTIL AFTER PAYOUT to refund him the 50% I will be paid, right?  I do not want to pay him from my own funds from my bankcard that is linked to Airbnb.  Thanks for any help!

@Meredith90 do not send any money, your guest might only have paid a 50% deposit with the balance due nearer to check in day.

Wait until after you've had the payout or contact customer service and let them take care of it.
