Bday Party / BBQ

I am looking for an Airbnb in  Anaheim, CA we are flying out of state . I am looking to surprise my boyfriend for his 40th. I am the one getting the place would be around 10 people or less. I wanted to do a BBQ in a backyard with some drinking and be in by the time the host has the time listed. I do not want to cross boundaries and rules. Not sure if this would be allowed or how do I approach this situation is it something I discuss with the host ?

If you are booking for ten people to stay and the property has BBQ facilities you can certainly do that as long as you say you observe and quiet times a host has on their listing @Perla139

@Perla139  As @Helen3  mentioned;  if you are booking a place that sleeps 10 and it's those ten guests that will be in attendance then it won't be an issue.  However if you book a place for 2 or even 4 the they have a backyard with a grill, you will definitely want to run it by the host.

Many hosts today have cameras to monitor for over occupancy and parties to keep their property safe as well as not anger the surrounding neighbors.  If you didn't mention it and they do see more than is on the reservation it could go sideways quickly.

Thank you for being a standup guest and wanting to be honest with your host. 😍
