Cleaning

I rent out a small inexpensive apartment and want to give the lowest price possible for the guests.

I don't particularly like cleaning it and I would like to give the guests a chance to AVOID the cleaning fee, if they prefer to clean themselves. Is there a way to set this up?

E.g., I assume the "standard" package for a guest is to start the dishwasher, take out the garbage and take the bedsheets off the bed - then they still have to pay the cleaning.

However, if they will to also wipe the surfaces, sweep and mop the floor - I could release them from the cleaning fee. (I do understand that I am the one responsible for the cleaning before the next guest anyways).

Is there a way to set such a system up at AirBnB?

Clearly that's not all you have to do to clean the property @Mike3119 what about washing, drying and ironing lines and towels , cleaning the oven and fridge, cleaning the bathroom , bath and shower , the skirting boards, hoovering throughout,  making beds, checking batteries , checking toiletries, preparing welcome gift to name the basics

would you rely expect a guest to do all that.

most guests would much rather pay the cleaning fee .

You are absolutely right! Basic cleaning of all the amenities should be added. I would like to add again that my apartment is quite small and it does not take too long.

Checking the toiletries and washing the linen cannot be done by the guests, so obviously I would do it 🙂

This approach that the guest does proper cleaning exists on the other platforms, it's relatively common here, is Sweden. I have a vague memory that I had to do it once renting on AirBnB, but maybe my memory tricks me.

p.s. making the bed being provided clean linen can be done by the guests, IMHO 🙂

Understandable idea, though the results may become inconsistent over time since no two guests think the same way. Also may prove tricky as to implementation, some guests will do others forget. As a general rule - the less asked of the guests, the better.
