False claims by host

False claims by host

I had a trip recently 05/05/2023 - 08/05/2023 & upon returning was accused by the host of stealing/removing spare linens from her property, she tried to claim for £350 which I declined.

She involved the resolution team who asked for evidence to support my dispute but I don't have any as I didn't think I'd be accused of stealing linens

My group confirmed there were no spare linens in the cupboards but the host claims to have evidence showing they were in the property during our stay but so far has only provided an invoice dated 09/05/2033 for new linens she purchased.

Airbnb refuse to share the images & the host has ignored my request to see the images. They have said the case is closed & have sided with her. Is there anything else I can do to fight this as I feel her claim is fraudulent & her ignoring my request proves this.

I also tried to raise a complaint but was only provided an link to leave feedback. Surely there has to be an official complaints process?

@Liam2375 To be asked to prove a negative is rather difficult so this dispute is likely to go nowhere. Equally for the host to prove theft is even harder. I would ask for a copy of the Police report (there will not be one) and just inform Airbnb that you did not steal anything (assuming you didn't) and that if they wish to pursue the matter further then you expect them to take you to court.

If they charge you then initiate a chargeback from your bank.

On the complaint front there is no complaints procedure within Airbnb other than either going to arbitration or the small claims court. These are only really suitable if they take money from you.
