Guests taking liberties .... What do you think?

Hi, I have a couple and their 18 month old child checking out tomorrow.

They were visiting family locally and had a family member bring round a cot for the child before they checked in.

So I've just got a message from the wife saying that they're going to leave the cot and baby stuff in my flat tomorrow and I can liaise with their family member as to when he can come to collect it.

They didn't ask if they could do that, but told me they were doing it, adding "Thanks in advance".

I think it is a bloody cheek. What do you think. Am I being unreasonable or inflexible? The husband is an Airbnb superhost himself!

I don't think so  you are being unreasonable. I am new to hosting, and the variety of weird requests I've received from guests is unthinkable. I feel when booking airbnb guests think they own the property so they can do whatever.

Of course it's a bl**dy cheek, but what you do is smile and say fine, your family member can come to collect from my place, (not from the Airbnb listing).

None of us can afford retaliatory reviews these days, as customer services won't listen to reason and won't remove them.

It's probably too late  now, as they will have gone, but I would have said that the family member  must come and collect the stuff at the time the guests are checking out. Then they can say their fond farewells at the same time.
