Can invited guest on a reservation send messages and see messages to/from the host?

Only the person who booked the reservation has a message thread with the host (inbox).

This is definitely not true for me. When my wife invites me as a guest, I can participate in her message thread, see and send messages to her and the host(s). But it does not work the other way round. Please clear this up.

Yea! All invited co-travelers  can see and respond to your messages. This feature ensures everyone stays updated with directions, check~in instructions, and check~out notifications.

Hi @Erica1310, yes, after the latest update all invited travelers can see and reply to the host's messages.
