Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask how you deal with situations when Airbnb push notifications suddenly stop working.
We manage more than 20 listings, so timely communication is critical for us. The issue is that new messages from guests are not appearing as push notifications at all sometimes we only notice them much later when we manually open the app.
We’ve already checked the basics (notifications enabled, no battery restrictions, app updated), but the problem still occurs across multiple devices.
This creates a serious operational risk, especially with same-day bookings or urgent guest questions.
How are you handling this on your side?
Do you rely on alternative notification systems?

Hi @Bryan1116 @Guga10 @Eddy353 @Jonathan3025 @Geovani21 👋
Just a quick update: thanks to your reports, our team identified a bug and is working on a fix. You should have your notifications back soon. 😊

Thank you so much for working with your team on this. 🙂
Hi @Bryan1116 @Guga10 @Eddy353 @Jonathan3025 @Geovani21
I just checked back in and they're still working on it. They have said in the meantime, you can uninstall and reinstall the app again and this should fix the issue. 😊
Hi @Rebecca, has the fix been made for the issue being reported on this thread?
Your post is more than two months ago; and I reported the very same issue 10 days ago via the only support channel that Airbnb has made available; and I get very brief responses (on behalf of engineering team) and no real time to resolve anytime soon.
Several of my guests have also reported the same concern; causing considerable impact and creating communication gaps between hosts and guests as well as prospective guests.
Btw, I also tried 'silent' time without the app (prior to that reinstalling the app several times; and also logging out of any other sessions, etc.), to see if Airbnb system will fallback to SMS; no; that is not happening either, even after 72 hours.
After a lot of follow-up (from my side) with the support channel, I got a defect number as below, two days ago:
Biometric payout verification failure & broken push notifications for Superhost account: #1888473
The status even few hours ago, that 'it's taken as a bug, but no estimation to resolve'.
It is extremely worry that Airbnb has this serious and recurrent issue that is a core part of the platform.
