I woke up to my current guest still asleep and kept me up till 6am. I walk in the bathroom and notice small black hairs in my husband's razor, his shower gel all over the tub, his deodorant used, and all his body spray gone! I don't understand why someone would use someone's razor that they dont even know! My husband used to be an I.V. user. He has been clean for years. Now, I am worried about the guest. What should I do?
I wonder how the guest mixed up the toiletries you provide for guests with your husband's personal toiletries. @Carol5416 how annoying for you and your husband.
I would move your husbands items from the bathroom so the guest can't use them again.
I would definitely express your surprise to your guest at him using your husbands personal toiletries.
I would leave the guest a negative review for keeping you up till 6 a.m. and for stealing your husbands toiletries and razor.
I wouldn't worry about safety issues linked to the guests use of the razor after all you have lived with your husband safely for years.
Thank you for the advice. I was super irritated and annoyed at the situation. I forgot to mention they didn't arrive till after 1am. I provide a just in case basket with a razor and shower gel. So, there is no reason for this to happen. We will be keeping his personal items in a different place. I guess I'm just shocked.
It is outrageous of the guest to do this @Carol5416 it is shocking and says a lot about the guest's attitude to other people's personal belongings.
Personally I only allow check in's up to 11 p.m. so I can try and meet and greet guests. I don't like being disturbed by guests coming in the early hours who don't know their way around my place.
Just to check when you say 'we provide a just in case basket' do you not provide toiletries for your guests as standard.? @Carol5416
I provide linens, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and a razor. The basket has those items plus little extra things like ibuprofen, snack, a few chocolates, a comb, floss, little tube of toothpaste, quitips, and tooth pick/flossers. The guest said she would arrive at 11pm but didn't arrive till after 1am. What should I have done? I couldn't find any answers to this problem last night.
