Hi everyone,
I recently started hosting. I had to travel overseas which meant no WiFi access. No ability to see guest messages or reply to them.
How do you handle this, hosts? Ie when, for whatever reason, you cannot access mobile service?
Thanks so much.

You would either have to ask your Co Host, or a family member or friend with messaging access on your Airbnb account to cover for you.
You could also just wait until you land to respond. It is recommended you respond withing 1hr, but you actually have 24hrs to respond to a booking inquiry, or request to book.

Many Hosts purchase a temporary international calling plan to activate while they are traveling. You can also purchase an international sim card for your phone. Many Hosts have Co Hosts who can handle all activity if you are on vacation or not reachable.

Thanks for this. My question relates specifically to travel
where there is no mobile reception or WIFI reception- for me this occurred during my 8 hour international flight. The other challenge is time zone differences.

Hi joana
Welcome to hosting
In nutshell, when hosting Guest expect Quick service just like in hotels.
So, try to respond within hours if not in 30 or 40 minutes.
Do this business without being dependent or Expecting 100% support from anybody.
Will be in best of your interest.

Wow. I am on a very steep learning curve. Thank you community for your support. I must say, I think I am suffering from New Host Blue’s. Wondering if this was just a really bad idea. We live and learn. Will check in again soon, with more advice seeking I suspect.
