Hi all!
I think it would help the host if the star ratings were present on each guest review.
It seems a bit disproportionate that an individual for whatever reason, can make a significant dent in the hard work and succeses of a host.
The reviews and ratings when left, only benefits or harm the host.
While i understand that the customer is important to Airbnb, being the source of the income, I do believe we can still assist the hosts without harming the guest.
By having the rating on the guest review, it can shed light to other potential guest to make a better assessment of the Airbnb. This should reduce the "refuting reviews calls" from the host, while giving a peace of mind.
A good example, if you were to look at my Airbnb, it would have an overall 4.6 rating. While in hindsight not a bad rating percentage, in the Airbnb world it is. Similarly to seeing a uber driver that has a 4.4 rating, it raises questions.
Now, if the ratings were attributed to the reviews left, one would be able to tell why the overall rating is low. It came from one person, vs the other reviews that were all rating of 5. A reasonable guest would be able to decifer a probable cause that might not have been necessarily, due to the Airbnb.
A guest gave me 4 stars with little to no explanation. Almost simply cause. One of the rating was for communication. The guest and I never spoke other than the automated messages sent for welcoming, check-in, and check out.
The review did not cross the Airbnb review policy guidelines, however, the review could possibly be ill intended, and why I think making ratings visible alongside the review can be a safe net for hosts.
