Xmas Cancellation

Hello

I had to cancel a xmas booking because we may have family coming that time but also the price was too low and I thought I had blocked it from going live however it listed and within hours it was already booked out (because the price was too low). It is the first time I have cancelled. If I need to relist this I can't seem to do it because the cancelled booking is in the way. How can I do it? I have been charged the cancellation fee as well.

I’ve never pressed the cancel button, so I’m not sure what the next screen looks like. I hope Airbnb provides information about the consequences before asking for confirmation, giving you a chance to read the warning first.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Changelle and yes there is much to learn when we go live and unfortunately sometimes we are not prepared and get caught out.  It's amazing how quickly we receive reservations as a newbie on the platform but not always welcome.

 

So when you cancel on a guest, there is a double whammy - not only are you fined, yes you know about that one but your calendar is also blocked for the nights that you cancelled.  Your only option is to book direct or book via another platform I'm afraid.

 

Instant Book is automatically activated by Airbnb when you create your listing but this is in fact optional and can be turned off if you want to start off more slowly.
