@Peter3616 It sounds like you may have been the victim of a scam. If you did the booking and payment over Airbnb's web site, then contact their customer service and tell them what happened, they will be able to help you get a refund. However, if you paid in some other way, e.g. outside of the web site, even if the host told you to do it, then even if the listing was on Airbnb or appeared to be on Airbnb, there is probably nothing to be done. You can try calling the police and reporting it as fraud.
