Hi,
A guest requested to stay a week in our chalet (sleeps 9) - 3 adults, 3 teenage boys, and 3 pets (two small dogs and 1 cat). They are relocating to the area and awaiting their apartment and then will be eventually buying a house.
My issues/questions are the following:
- they joined in 2021 with no trips yet
- her profile picture was a photograph of a woman's face that looked like it was a photograph changed to a painting online (previous pictures of guests have been real)
- she did not have her profile updated with any information - no interests, fun facts or highlights
We do not live in the same area as our chalet so it would be difficult to pop in and see who is there or check on things in anyway.
I am feeling skeptical about continuing with the reservation and just asking of others have had the same experience?
Thank you,
Terra

Assuming that you are good with the pets and such, and your gut says mostly yes, I'd do what I've done many times: ask the guest to update their profile. Ask for a real photo. Most guest profiles have been pretty scant in the information, more so with things like fun facts. With newcomers who have no profile information I've asked them to get theirs going, as it will make them part of the community and put hosts at ease. I've not had any negatives from guests around that sort of request. If your gut says to decline, there's some reason for it which you are sensing, even if it is not clear to you. So far, from what you said, they have given you their reasons for reserving. She joined during the pandemic, perhaps it was not altogether convenient to travel in the last year or two. If you are curious, do ask questions.
I have turned down requests for guests without any reviews. It’s up to you and your risk appetite and how badly you need the income.

Hello there @Terra112 , I am wondering if you had the opportunity to read our members' suggestion. What did you do with this reservation in the end?
Please keep us posted.
