How to navigate Primary Residence laws for Airbnb's in Chicago?

I have 1 Airbnb already. I'm trying to setup another 1 in a building I recently purchased.

In Chicago, you can only have an Airbnb in your Primary Residence, and you can only have 1 Primary Residence. So just 1 Airbnb per Host?

But I see on Airbnb many Hosts have multiple units? How are they doing this? They can't have all of them listed as their Primary Residence?

You need a building with 8 units to be allowed multiple Airbnbs, so I understand how huge businesses have multiple Airbnbs since they can afford to buy 8+ unit buildings.

But searching around I see many regular individuals hosting out of multiple units, most of which are single family homes or not in 8+ unit buildings.

How are they achieving this?

Have you asked on your local host group @Jessica3382

I haven’t. I didn’t know that was a thing.

This is the first issue I’ve run into on Airbnb.

I’ll try to find my local group and ask them. Thank you!
