Hello,
My name is Corinne and i would like to have an advice before getting into the airbnb.
I am currently looking for a house to buy on cleawater and surrounding area, to lease via your site.
There are areas on clearwater / St Petersburg / Dunedin Florida, which are banned for rent in airbnb.
Do you know its areas?
How do I know its areas?
In advance, thank you for your answer.
Best regards
Corinne

@Corinne172 - We are other hosts here in the Forums and not Airbnb. You are solely responsible for knowing the laws in your area, community, town, county, and state. Florida definitely has some rules so you should spend some time on the internet looking up the needed information required to be in compliance. Airbnb is not responsible if you are breaking the law.
You might consider talking to both a Real Estate Attorney and Realtor to assist you. Additionally, you will want to talk to your accountant to make sure you are correctly set up for paying taxes. Finally, make sure any property you buy can be insured as a short-term rental property in the area you want to buy - not all of them can. Then, before you even start looking, since your motivation for buying is to start hosting, make sure you:

5. Then take a mental inventory of your own personality and determine if you actually can handle people in your space, touching and ruining your things without being sorry (because it will happen) and how you will resolve conflict as it arises in your dealings with guests. It's different dealing with "guest-pectations" and people on vacation than it is with renters.
Do the above before you even think about pushing "post" on your listing.
Then get ready for fun, exciting and amazing people to enter your life and touch you in ways that would never have been possible had you not chosen to open your heart, head and home to the possibility of new encounters.
Good luck.
