Co-hosting

Co-hosting

This is probably a really dumb question, but . . . . Currently I am listed as the Airbnb host for the space which my wife and I use to host guests. I want her to have access to the Airbnb app so that either of us (not just me) can manage bookings etc. How do we both become joint or co-hosts or is that not possible?

Yeah same here. I set airbnb up for our flat that's in my name but truly need the help of my flatmate to co-host the airbnb with me. I need him to receive all notifications, etc.

My daughter starting hosting my house for me when I was travelling overseas. Now that I am home again we are co-hosting. She is pregnant and now wanting to be less involved so I have taken over the "primary host" status. However, my log in account does not allow me to access any of our financial details, stats etc and even our "saved messages" can only be accessed from her log in. How can I change this to my account - or preferably both of us would have access to all of the information.

Grateful for any advice as I am unable to talk to anyone on the NZ Airbnb phone number which just rings and rings and rings with no-one answering it.

I have had great response from the help department through email.

I delete my cohosts whenever I return from trips and start managing my property again.

I add them again when I need to.

This eliminates my being unable to access parts of my account, my cohost unnecessarily seeing messages between guests and I, and enables me to negotiate changes in percentages or change cohosts without it being a drama.

Are these instructions valid if I host several properties? The only drop down list on the left hand side I can see lists my three properties. I cannot find co-host anywhere...

(Thanks in advance!)

I can't find the co-host tab at all, despite AirBnB providing these instructions:

How do I add a co-host to my listing?

If you need a little extra support hosting your space, you can add a family member, neighbor, or trusted friend to help with the logistics.

To add a co-host:

  1. Go to Manage Listings on airbnb.com
  2. Select Manage Listing and Calendar on the listing you want to edit
  3. Hover on the left side of the page to open the menu and select Co-hosts

You can add up to three co-hosts per listing. By adding co-hosts, you agree to the Co-host Terms of Service.

Don’t know anyone who can help with your listing?

If you don’t know someone who’s able to help host your space, you can get a neighborhood co-host. Local co-hosts can help with your listing by using their own account. Find a co-host.

Step 3. has me mystified - hover over what? What drop down list...?

I have (finally!) successfully navigated signing my husband up as a co-host, but our realization now is that he cannot navigate any of the Air B&B necessary dashboard, reservation areas or communications except to reply to an email.  Do you think he wil be able to manage our hosting while I am out of town?  Can he just reply to reservation requests and managae the room that way? Otherwise I need to change my account while I am gone to indicate that I cannot take any reservations until March 3rd.

I suggest you share your password with him so he can log into your account-

This is how I had to solve my problem with my partner co hosting for me.

He answered emails as a cohost but could access al other information.

I also could see everything from other devices

Hi - I'm also confused by these instructions - did you find out how to edit your co-host details? I already have a co-host and want to change the percentage I pay them, but can't figure out how to do it! So frustrating...

If you’re working from a laptop look at the tabs across the top of the screen when you have the platform open. Click on cohost

From a smart phone or tablet it is a pain

Hello @Maeve0,

Lovely to meet you. If you are unable to see the co-hosting button in 'Manage Listing' it may be that this option is not available to you yet. They have been gradually rolling this feature out and I believe nearly all hosts have this, so I'm sure you will get this soon.

I hope this helps.

Lizzie

Hi, so how do we work out if the co-hosting option is available to us please?

It's rather confusing and leaving me frustrated - I can't manage the property from a different country so need a co-host to help. I may need to delete my listing if I can't sort this.  Any help is gratefully received.

I WAS IN COSTA RICA  and had a hosting nightmare recently.  For one thing, I was signed up for "instant book" whch made a mini drama with a woman who reserved just a few hours before her arrival, and I had no way to clean reset and host the arrival.

Still working on finishing out that one gracefully.

So - I have asked a friend to clean, & I need 2 cleaners I think to make sure one is available.

And most of all, another friend who I trust who I will train to host when I cannot.   We have yet to work out finances, but she is retired and has flexible time to offer, as needed.  Excited to have her help and interest.

She lives within a mile of my place so it should work out well.

The details of getting her on my inquiry & email threads are still not clear.  Maybe this did not help at all.

My co-host story so far.

I would like to increase the percentage that my co-host makes. Do I have to remove her, then add her back in at the new rate?

Thanks for the help!
