Co-hosting

Co-hosting

This is probably a really dumb question, but . . . . Currently I am listed as the Airbnb host for the space which my wife and I use to host guests. I want her to have access to the Airbnb app so that either of us (not just me) can manage bookings etc. How do we both become joint or co-hosts or is that not possible?

Is there a way for our friend to only get paid for co-hosting when we're gone, or should we just pay her from our earnings? She will be taking care of our listing for two weeks while we are out of town.

Since it's you and your wife, simply add the Airbnb app to her phone and have her log into the same account from the app. She might not see the emails sent to your email account but she will see the notifications when people inquire, book, leave feedback, etc. She can also log into the same account via a web browser (many times I use a computer browser rathe rthan the app even though I see/heard a notification from the app, the app has a number of limitations).

If you want to add someone you shouldn't give this type of access, after they set up their own Airbnb profile you can then invite them to become your co-host. Currently this will allow them nearly 100% of your capability to edit the listing and manage inquiries and booking requests (or instant book, which we don't use). So far the only thing we found we are not able to do as co-hosts is send an offer to a guest where the guest inquired or asked to book "Listing 1" and we want to send an offer for "Listing 2". We work around this by sending the link for them to view the other listing, and once they inquire or ask to book it, then we again have full ability to managed the "new" listing under discussion.

Does anyone Co-Host in B.C. Canada? Vancouver or Victoria? I can't seem to get set up? do I need someones Email address or is there a place I can fill out a Co-Host profile for myself? Trying to help a friend for the summer.

Wow, getting so frustrated trying to find a way of giving the person I nominated as my co-host full access to my site so she can respond to messages. She tells me she's seeing some, but not everything. She has an account, but not a co-host account. Does she need to do this for me to nominate her as my co-host? I wish AirBnB had a help line where we can actually chat with someone who knows their way around the site. The advice they give on adding co-hosts by hovering over the left hand side of the page on 'manage listing' of your listing is false. I've hovered and hovered, to no avail. Now I'm wondering is she makes a co-host account, does that open her up to requests from everyone in her area? I don't know if she wants that. Plus, I still don't know how to add her as my co-host. I hope someone can help me, as I've spent hours trying to figure this out. Including reading all the messages here carefully.

@Deborah0I know what you are going through! I wasted 5 hours of my time trying to help my friend, to set up Hosting account,  but to no avail. She wanted me to be her Cohosh. First of all, use a desk top computer. Don't try to do it on Smartphone. Not too smart!

First, you must send  an invitation to your friend for her to be your Co Host. She must accept.  Even if she is already a host, (I think?) she must  resubmit her info. Upon acceptance by Airbnb, you can add her as your Airbnb Co Host. At this juncture you can set up your business relationship however you decide. I added my husband as my Co Host. He sees all Airbnb messages, notices and transactions. I do all the booking, cleaning setting up of calendars. I give him a certain % to cover taxes, electric, etc. It goes directly into his account. As far as I know, he could handle all the bookings and calendar also, but he cannot change our Host/Co Host agreement without my direct approval. I can remove him any time!

So I am a co-host but I pretty much am the host. Am I allowed to send gas special offers or reservation request? I cannot figure out how to book this guess who has contacted me to do so. We just agreed on a different amount than what I Airbnb had listed. Appreciate any help!

I've been added to an existing account as a co-host.  Where is the log-in for the Co-host?

Go to your normal login page and top right there should be "host" as an option, clikc on that and choose listings..

Hi

I am a new host since October of 2018. How does cohosting work? How much do they get paid for doing this? I basically need them to be on call if my guests should need anything during their stay.
