Do you request your own guest review?

Are there any hosts who independently have a review sheet they leave for guests in the room/accommodation in order to get feedback?

If so what do you ask? Is it helpful? And are guests happy to complete it?

I'm wondering because I've just had another review from a guest stating in private airbnb feedback that my bathroom and kitchen could have been cleaner. Now I cleaned everywhere, sweating buckets. I thought it was clean. They evidently did not for some reason. But this feedback tells me nothing in particular. I've had people say the same hours after s professional cleaner has been through.

So I'm wondering if a feedback form here would give people a chance to be more specific and.constructive?

It's worth noting that this guest didn't rate anything but check in above 4 .

I am not sure how this would lead to better reviews @Wendy684 ?

I do explain the rating system in my guest book and follow up with guests during their stay to check to check that there are no issues.

I also ask them to let me know if they feel that anything isn't as described in my listing and say to let me know if any amenities fail to work.

If you have had two recent guests mention cleanliness issues, it's probably worth asking a friend to check the place once you have cleaned it, in case there are issues you are missing.

I also follow up with guests who mark me down on ratings and ask them to help me improve by giving me feedback on specific areas they feel didn't come up to scratch.

Having had a quick look at your listing, if it is still as shown in your photos, I would try and declutter both your kitchen and bathroom. Sometimes people see clutter as somewhere not being clean, even when this is not the case.

Having a more detailed review would enable me to improve. I have messaged gutters after a low review and asked for feedback, twice and received no reply. Which is why I wondered about having a more detailed review form here. I have a lot of 1 and 2 night stays due to my location so people are often not here long enough to really tell me personally.

I do take you point about the clutter and can maybe work on that. I do need to take more pictures of the kitchen without clutter. Obviously I'm living here and using both. At some point they walked in just after I cooked dinner (they ate out) and stuff was everywhere but it was cleaned up again quickly afterwards. They honestly barely set foot in on kitchen.

They were trampers who just spent several days sleeping in tents or tramping huts in the mountains lol it seems the weirdest thing to call my house not clean after that but I have to listen and try figure it out.
