Extra guests to room size

Extra guests to room size

Hi fellow hosts,

i have a double en-suite bedroom that is registered for two people (adults) and had an enquiry today for the room to be booked for a couple who want to bring along their two children and put air mattresses and sleeping bags down for the kids to sleep in.

I have a three bedroom apartment available the same requested evening and offered this as an alternative (marginally higher rate) to ensure all guests were in beds!

really shocked that people ask to put their own portable beds into a two person bedroom.

Due to tourism registration and fire safety rules this would be out of the question but wondered if this was common practice. Also had a family asking to bring extra guests to the apartment maximum and then begged to pitch a tent in the garden. Despite the house rules being clear on max number of guests people still try to squeeze more in... why?

@Penny233 yes, people will ask for all kinds of special accommodations. As you did, you can just say no.

@Penny233  You asked why... it is obvious - because it is cheaper to rent a studio for 2 guests and put the child on the floor or in parent's bed then to rent an apartment with 4 beds and pay for 4 guests.

Some guests think they are paying per bed, not per guest
