just for info .. also by Swiss housing rules, there are quiet hours from 10pm to 7 or 8am .. and it's not forbidden to take a shower, but more or less allowed only if really necessary (for example you work in a restaurant and came home always late) and also then only as short as possible and it's not allowed to take a bath, as filling a tub makes more noise. This rules are old, where the houses are not so good sound-proofed .. but there are still houses from this decade ... overall mostly it's no problem, but to take care to direct neighbors is nice.
I had once guests they took showers at 3am for over an hour .. and sorry, but this noise (even it's not so loud) wakes up everyone in nearer distance ... rules came not out of the blue .. rules cames from stupid behaviour 😉
Hello @Sarah977 @Emiel1 it is like this, it is a general rule. On the one hand, any citizien can go to the City Hall and write a complaint and open a expedient.

On the other hand, for punctual issues (very hard, of course, like parties or big noises), neighbours will call local police. That happens in summer very usually, because people stays in the terraces until 3am singing and shouting (and there is people that works in summer and need to sleep). Also when someone do parties at home shouting until late, arguments...
Actually, Airbnb starts having problems in Barcelona in 2015 exactly because...:
"La chispa de la protesta se encendió en un grupo de Facebook en que se siguen sucediendo semana tras semana mensajes de vecinos indignados. "Esta mañana he tenido que llamar a la Guardia Urbana por unas molestias con el aire acondicionado, golpes y ruidos del piso turístico ilegal que tengo encima", dice una vecina."

Noise is one of the problems of the city. Of course, it is not something just about guests, it is in general (clubs, matches, summer life, students life, transit, constructions...). Maybe I express myself so bad, sorry, it's because of my poor English x)

@Ale113 Singing and shouting until 3AM isn't acceptable almost anywhere. But that's a far cry from having a shower and flushing the toilet.
Spanish cities are late night cities people often don't go out to eat until 10 p.m. or later @Ale113 @Sarah977 so it would be strange indeed for there to be such a country wide rule.
Have visited Spain quite a few times and have never seen anything about such legislation when I have stayed in a airbnb.
@Ale113 Most of the time hosts on this forum will support other hosts with the idea, "your house, your rules." but it is apparent that the feedback you are getting is that your rules are either confusing or unrealistic. Is this helpful for you? It appears you might feel defensive.
Hello @Linda108
It is exactly like that!! T_T
It is not helping me, but I apreciate all the opinions
