Host not home or responding

Hi everyone! My boyfriend are trying to check into our Airbnb - we’ve already paid. The host’s phone is disconnected temporarily and they aren’t home. I’m feeling uncomfortable about even staying at this point. What do you all recommend? Also, how can we get a refund?

Did you make appointment with the host about time of arrival ?

Did you message the host ?  it is important there is some proof host is not replying.

The check in gave us a window of time to arrive.  They didn’t acknowledge our reservation even though we sent them a message about it. We did message them that we arrived and followed up asking about checking in. The timeframe they gave us is past now. What do you think is the best idea? Should we book another place?
