How to get guests through building door lock?

Hi,

We are new to renting out our condo and are running into logistics issues on how to get visitors into our building. I understand how to get them into our actual unit, say through a key pad or lock box, but how exactly do I get them into the building itself? Our building has a keypad that can be used to call our unit to unlock the door but that would mean I would have to answer every call and press "9" to ensure they can get in. How do people bypass this issue? I don't really feel like I can have a lock box out in the public somehwre for the entire building complex but I don't what other options I have?

Is there some kind of service that auto answers phone calls and can press "9"?

If you need two keys to get into your unit (building key and then unit key), then you will need to give them two keys.

Makes sense but let's say I am not meeting every person staying at my place meaning they show up and are stuck at the front gate. How do I get them inside the gate if I'm not able to physically deliver them a key? I don't feel safe with leaving some lock box out in the open.

What is the building management's policy for having short term guests in the building? Is it allowed?

I live in an apartment complex with the same set up - "key/passcode/call to unit" options for building entrance then a separate "key/passcode (digital door lock)" to enter my home. I would suggest you check if the building keypad can be set to have a passcode that can be put in for entrance, and give this to the guest. (This is what I do 🙂 ) Of course, if you go with this option, you will have to change the passcode for each guest (even if it is just to get into the building).
