How to make customer service look into my case seriously?

How to make customer service look into my case seriously?

I am thretened by the host. My mobile number was given to a man without my permission. The man harrassed me on the phone afterward. The host also sent me some racist messages. It is strange to be racially discrimated by a person from a less developed country (Poland), to be honest.

I talked to the customer service, no one seems to listen to me...

Just a quick note here (I have answered you on your other thread): It is not a good idea to insult other nations, in this case all the Polish people on the forum will not feel overly keen on helping you. Not sure where you are from, just two initials on your profile that I don't understand? Being upset is understandable, insulting a whole nation as a result is not.

I would like to clarify that I have no negative feeling against Polish people. The racist host insults my culture as uncivilised. According to Human Development Index, my country is more developed than her country. That's why I feel kind of awkard, especially considering the fact that polish people also face racism in Europe regarding the development of their country. I assumed a victim wouldn't be a bully, but I was wrong...

@W-M-0   When you say your mobile was given to a man without your permission, who gave it out Airbnb or a guest? Just asking as Airbnb never used to give my mobile out even to guests that had made a reservation, everything cam ethrough the APP, recently I have had a few text me. They have not answered where they got my mobile number from.

The host gave my number to the man who harassed me. As a guest, I can see the mobile number of my host if I click on "View Itinerary".

@W-M-0   Hi thank you.  Try Twitter to contact Airbnb you might have more luck in getting a response from them.

@Ange2When you have a confirmed guest their phone number appears on the booking. And so does yours on their side.  I have also had phone calls from guest out of the blue to request if they can book in earlier. I dont mind it but I think as host we should treat this as sensitive information. And if it is true that the host shared @W-M-0 phone number it is unecceptable. I always try to keep all messages on the Airbnb platform but sometimes my guests are not with internet while on safari and they sms me. So yes, guests do have your phone number 😉

@MicheleandLouw0   Thank you. I didn't know. All my guests ask me for my cell phone number when they get here and say they didn't receive it from Airbnb!   A case of not reading their emails I suppose. That's why I was surprised when I got a text from a future guest.

@Ange2 Pleasure! It appears on the reservation. We all keep on learning so much here.

Hello,

Nice to meet you @W-M-0, my name is Lizzie and I am the Online Community Manager here in the Community Center.

I am sorry to read about your experience here in this post. It is good you have been in touch this the Support Team regarding this and you have also received some replies to your question here, so I hope you have found this helpful.

This said, I have shared this elsewhere in the Community Center, but I wanted highlight this again below regarding Airbnb's mission.

"Airbnb’s mission is to help create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. We believe that by sharing our homes, meeting people from across the world, and experiencing different cultures, we can foster the understanding that leads to that community of belonging.  Earlier this year we published our Standards and Expectations, which are an expression of our community’s shared values, and were created based on what hosts and guests have told us they view as acceptable conduct and behavior when using Airbnb. A foundational value in these Standards that relates to your particular question is the principle of Fairness; specifically the section on Discriminatory Behavior or Speech. This is further explained in our nondiscrimination policy which all community members agree to as part of their use of Airbnb. If we become aware that a member of our community has explicitly violated this standard, adverse action may be taken on their account, including potential removal from the Airbnb community.

We remain committed to making Airbnb one of the most open, trusted, diverse, transparent and accepting communities in the world. As part of this, we encourage you to explore ways to interact with people from all backgrounds and to find the common threads that bring us together. For more information, read our recent blog post. "

Please keep the above in mind when posting and just to let everyone know I am going to close this thread here.

Thank you for your time.

Lizzie
