Hi,
I wish to limit the age of children to six years plus in our cabin. We live in cougar, bear and wolf country, plus our cabin isn't suitable for very young children. We are also on a septic system and can't take the risk of people misusing the septic, i.e. flushing things other than organic matter and toilet paper. How can I do this as the input in Airbnb doesn't allow you to change either (0 to 2) or (2 to 12).

I have a similar dilemma here, @Celia60 , and have handled it by toggling "not suitable for ages 0 to 12". Then in my house rules I have a line about "older children who are used to camping", with a note to ask me at the time of booking.
What happens is that people tick the box that says child, and suddenly they cannot instant book, but they can send a request. They tell me how much their 10-year-old loves camping, and I say yes, and then they are able to book and show up.
It works well. Sure, I would rather be able to choose more specific ages, but I have had no trouble with honest guests.
The dishonest guests are not stopped by anything we can toggle anyway. 🙂
Hi Lawrene, thanks for this. I dealt with this by clicking no children and then added a note in the additional rules. I only hope people read. I know what you mean about the dishonest ones. They can ruin the whole experience, unfortunately. Thanks again, Celia
Me too, @Celia60 , @Lawrene0 , I say ''School age children most welcome'' with the child button unticked. This means I won't show in search for families, which is fine by me. I have some stay occasionally, and older children are a delight in my house usually.
Cougar, bear and wolf!!! I live in kangaroo and possum country myself 🙂
Thanks for your input, great idea.
