Master Lock box

Master Lock box

Hi, we have recently opened a studio apartment in Annandale (Sydney Australia) in Airbnb. The apartment is located in a building with an intercom, you need a key to get through the street level doors or be buzzed in.

We live about 25 mins away from the airbnb apartment and so would like to know if anyone has used the Master lock or other key locking box devices to leave keys to the building and the apartment for guests that arrive late or for those times when we cannot meet them in person to let them in.

I have not asked the building manager or body corporate because I am afraid they will not allow us to install and drill holes on the front of the building to install the Master Lock box.

Have any of you been through this, how did you solve or get around this issue? any other creative ideas?

Thanks in advance.

No need to add lockbox on front of building.

If building often has people going in or out, your guests can simply walk in when the door opens and proceed to the mailboxes.

Leave the mailbox unlocked and install Master Lock lockbox by screwing it into the rear of the mailbox.  Client then opens mailbox, punches in the code, lockbox opens and then they retrieve keypass and key.

When they have finished, they can deposit keys back into the lockbox - or if you have visted since they moved in, lock the mail box and they can post them through the slot when they move out.

Hi @Paola273, is there anywhere you could hide the key in the area around your building perhaps? If this was possible, you could then let your guests know shortly before their stay where to get the key to enter the building. Then I would follow @Murray7’s suggestions or something like it. Or, is it possible you might pay one of your neighbors in the building to be the key contact? You could then tell guests to buzz apartment xxx upon arrival. Of course, you would then have to communicate arrival times, etc. to the contact to ensure he was home for guest's arrival.
