My guests for the last 3 days at my lake house left my place tidy and just fine, but, I am pretty sure they weren't completely honest about the number of guests using my place.
I don't meet and greet my guests, I live 15 miles from my lake house, so it's self check in. Nore do I charge extra for extra guests, so I really don't have a problem if I've been made aware of the extra people.
This group claimed to have 3 people when booking, but my husband went over to dump garbage in our nearby dumpster and noticed 3 large vehicles in the driveway, and lots of people in the yard. When I went to clean after their stay there were at least 4 beds that had been used.
Anyway, I don't know if I should include this in my review as a heads-up to hosts who DO care about honesty in proclaimed registered guests or just let it fly.
I have let it go completely in the past and it has come back to bite me once. I had a reservation for one guest and at least four slept there. They then left me a poor review saying there weren't enough towels for their group. Which was crazy in and of itself because I leave eight towel sets there, in a 3 person space, for each stay. Anyway, they were completely unfair in their review because of feeling like the space didnt accomodate their group like it should have. I wish I had mentioned the inconsistency in their numbers vs. Registered guests on my review, instead I left them a nice review, ugh.
What would you fine hosts do with a guest who for whatever reason lies about their numbers on booking? Just wondering if I should share this info with other hosts in my review.
