Pricing

I have a booking and the payment went through and was confirmed. Two days before check in they decided they wanted to come a day early so they booked the extra day but the pricing doubled. So I have received my money but it is more then what it should be, however, if i refund this persons first invoice it leaves me short and with less money then when i started so I am losing money.

Not sure how the pricing system works and how I can calculate so i can refund this person without losing money on my end.

Any help would be great...

I am more then happy to return the money but however I calculate it it doesnt match what he has paid. I also dont want to get ripped off.

@Natasha67, Sounds like the whole booking went through again when you extended. Did you use the Change Reservation function, or did you send a whole new offer?  I would encourage the guest to contact AirBnB themselves to sort out the error - this is a problem with AirBnB, rather than you. AirBnb would then recoup the moneys from you. But if you start by doing a direct reimburse, and THEN AirBnB corrects it, you are going to be out of money.

If for some reason AirBnB doesn;t agree to refund the earlier invoice (and I can't see why they wouldn't) you can always reimburse the guest directly after the fact.

Clear as mud?

@Natasha67 Do you have screenshots of the before and after? Would make it easier to help 🙂

No but I can give you the break down  1st invoice

$170 CAD x 7 nights $1190

cleaning fees $50

Airbnb fee ($37)

total payout $1203.00

2nd

$333 CAD x 8 nights $2660

cleaning $50

Airbnd fee ($81)

total payout $2629               this one doesnt make sense but this is what I was paid...which is not right

but the gentleman told me he received two invoices when he confirmed

one in the amount of $1389 around and the 2nd (upon rebooking) $1545...so i am really confused

Would this make more sense?

1st Invoice Amount - $1,203

Additional Day - $333

Total Payout - $1,536

Refund to guest - $1,093 (2,629 - 1,536)

I didn't do anything the guest redid his booking. Looks like it was totally messed up.

Maybe if I would have done it from my end it would have been better for both parties.
