Taxes, Co-host, W-9

Thanks for any help anyone has to offer.
We're new hosts and I'm trying to get this all straight so I don't have a mess when I go to pay taxes.

We have a co-host and I'm paying him a straight percentage of our earnings.

I have filled out my Tax info at:

Account > Payout Preferences > Taxpayer information

Does my co-host click the 'add a taxpayer button' to enter his W9 info?  Does Airbnb then track who made what so we can report it accurately?

Thanks!

Hi all

Question on co host taxes.   I understand that up to a certain amount, 20 grand for a host, taxes are not necessary.  Is this the same for a co=host?

TIA

I think that is incorrect, but may depend upon where you live.  We have to pay federal income taxes on anything more than a few hundred dollars per year.  And we have to collect and pay a state sales tax and a county lodgeing tax monthly.
So check with your state and county offices to find out what the rules are where you live.
