Hi!
I have been trawling the forums for a solution to a problem I have encountered at least twice since I started with Airbnb..Namely that a guest wanted to reserve two or more non consecutive days on one booking. I'm not familiar with the charging system, but the guest seems to believe they would be charged extra if they made two separate bookings (apart from the obvious inconvenience of not being able to book two or more weekends, for example, in one go)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Information on getting hold of Airbnb seems a bit of a performane!
Thanks.. Omar
As far as I know, there is no immediate solution to this dilemma. They would have to make two bookings. If they are regulars, you could perhaps do a special offer with a small discount as a compensation for the extra airbnb fees they would have to pay with two separate bookings.
Thanks for your answer! It is very frustrating.. do you have any idea what the extra charges would be? Does every booking request have a "transaction fee" as well as a percentage of the total?
Try and enter the dates into your own listing and you will see the breakdown of costs and a total.
@Omar31 the main difference would be that any cleaning fee would be applied twice (which is sensible, as you might have a different guest stay between the two stays of this guest).
Hi guys,
We are trying to book multiple dates for a guest but there seems to be no solution.
How can we set up a booking for a guest who wants to stay mondays, tuesdays and thursday for several weeks??!!
Anyone here to help??
Cheers,
Ed
@Lotfy-Omar0 Hi, I believe the fees are worked out as a % of the rates charged by the host so additional costs aren't incurred.
Haven't seen multiple date bookings on other accommodation sites so don't think the systems used can cope with this. I used to work for a booking agency for car parking slots and it took some time for the IT dept. to set up multiple dates.
I am dealing with this now- someone who works at our baseball stadium and wants to stay only for days with home games. This is 12 dates next month! Do I really have to ask him to book each date individually? Could I send a special offer for the full price with the dates listed and then block them manually? I haven't sent a special offer before and wonder if there's a place for such language, or if this puts either myself or the guest at a disadvantage.
@Jen152 they pretty much have to book each date individually.
You can provide special pricing, but there will be 12 separate bookings regardless.
I have also been dealing with this ... a few times this year! Companies who wish to book my place Monday through Thursday Night - for several weeks or months. Corporations want to pay ONE TIME.
I already have guests booked into the weekends or I would just make their reservation for the whole span and call it a day...
This scenario really needs a fix.
If a corporation wants to pay for all nights ONE time, no problem, just work out the total for all nights and then, when they agree, you block all dates... then, before the first check in, send the guest a “special offer” with the total amount in the offer, but only the first stay dates booked!
The other dates for the following ongoing stays are blocked already... and paid for!
I've done this and no issues. I did add a €500 security deposit on the first stay which I got the corporation to agree to this being applicable for all stays.
I forget right now what the time limit for claims is but it’s not a short time.
Alternatively you can ask the Corporation to underwrite potential damages or they could add the security deposit to their first payment which they can have returned at the end if they prefer. Everything is possible!
As a customer wanting to book multiple business trips to the same location, I agree, this needs to be fixed.
You just need a host with a positive and flexible attitude who can think outside the box... it’s all possible with the Airbnb app today using a calculator to get the total cost then the host includes this total cost in your first stay using the “special offer” feature... then the host simply goes to their calendar and blocks all your dates... done!
Hi Does anyone at AirBNB make a contribution to these conversations ?
Same problem as above - happy to pay 3 cleaning fees but I will not pay AIRBNB 3 service fees !
This issue really needs fixed, Airbnb!!!! Our very patient potential guest found it so difficult that he is now considering reserving on another site that is more customer friendly for customizing stays! (and I find it very difficult too even as a savvy host). We're STILL trying to book his non-contiguous dates with a special offer for each. Airbnb support told him I could do it from my end as a host, but the online support I found said HE has to submit a second inquiry for the second set of dates (He wants to stay a month, but leave during the Thanksgiving holidays & come back, totalling one month)- I can't even see the "Send a Special Offer" tab anymore!
I do hope someone from Airbnb is following this thread & addressing this. Now I have to call support myself & my time is money. HELP!
