cancellation policy

Hello, I am really unhappy with Airbnb at the moment. I have a strict cancellation policy marked on my apartment that I rent out and a host thta had reserved 6 weeks in advance decided to cancel less than a week before arriving. In that case according to my policy and the rules created by Airbnb themselves I get a full refund of the reservation. No other person has been able to see my property or book in the last 6 weeks because of this other guest who then decides to cancel.

For me its a money loss, and Airbnb without consulting with me decided to give the guest 50% of the money back.

This is not correct and not what I have signed up for. I am astonished that they can decide something like this with my properties and without even telling me.

@Marta742  I think you haven't properly understood the strict cancellation policy .

Guests are entitled to 50% back up until a week before. Less than a week before you get to keep 100%.

Airbnb were perfectly correct in how they applied the policy.

Hi Helen, Im afraid I have not expressed myself correctly. The guest cancelled on tuesday when he was arriving on Monday, which in less that a week before hand. Airbnb themselves sent me an automated answer saying I was receiving 100% back anyways. And then one of their members, GERWIN, just changed it into giving the guest 50% back without even telling me he was doing this.

It is not ok, Airbnb would not have a business without people like us offering our houses.
