host wouldn't reply

i have 2 months more to my book accommodation. However, the host isn't replying to my questions (last messaged 8 days ago and 2 days ago). Should I be worried and cancel my booking?

contacted airbnb on twitter and they mentioned that i should try contacting again 2 weeks before my stay. if the host still doesn't reply, airbnb will step in to assist.

But my concern is even if i'm able to get a full refund (excluding service fees), room prices will definitely be higher when i book 1 week before my stay versus booking now.

or am i too demanding that the host stays contactable even if the guest is 2 months away from staying in their apartment? But it's not as if one can't get internet connection easily and take a couple of minutes to reply. the stay is in a developed country btw

@Chin16  I would call Airbnb not message them on Twitter. Explain your concerns that if there is a problem and you leave it till two weeks before arrival any available accommodation will be much more expensive.

If you have messaged the host and also tried to contact her by the phone number and she hasn't responded I would insist Airbnb tries to contact her now.

the host doesn't have whatsapp so calling her wouldn't be an option as international calls are expensive (this is debatable but regardless, hosts should stay contactable on airbnb)

and all airbnb numbers are international numbers for me..
