i would like to talk about the guest comunication

Hi any one have noticed that if the guestfind it difficult to speak an international language which is the english language reflects on the host as bad communication? have you also noticed that guests that makes a mess in the house are those that gives you a bad rating and say that the house wasn't clean? I am writting here so that when you rate your guest and write revies on your guests please write the truth. doing this you will be leading the next host to get rid of certain untrustfull guests. from my side i always wrote the truth but unfortunatly I have accepted guest because of there good reviews and than I find that they are totally opposite.

I used to choose by instinct but now a days you can't without a photo. The only way hosts can help each other is by writing the truth on the guest like that mess and rude guest will be eliminated. We do not have to worry as there will be still loads of other guests arround to choose from.

@Rachel177  I was trying to be amusing, but I think a lot of people just can't bring themselves to do it, whether to spare people's feelings or because they hate confrontation of any kind I don't know.

I have received a reservation but I want to cancel it because she has a dog together without getting Airbnb sanctions?

@MargaritisandKerasia0 You need to contact airbnb. You can write to them via the reservation. There is a contact Airbnb link there somewhere. It is what I do when I need airbnbs help. They can cancel the reservation and they can read the messages between you and your guest and cancel so you won't get penalized in any way 🙂

I host an airbnb in central mexico, I got booked by two australian girls. When they arrived to the gated community where my airbnb is and to enter they asked them for an ID (they keep it until the next time you exit the place) they got crazy and refused because they didn't feelt comfortable with it. I know that asking for an ID might sounds crazy but in mexico is pretty common. I called them and they repeated MANY times how they felt uncomfortable with doing that, even thought I mentioned them I would find a way for them to get in without leaving the ID, they continued to mention how unfomfortable they were. I called the administrator and got them in in less than 20 minutes. Of course I got a bad review for check in. I understand that they didn't want to leave and ID and that's fine!!! I solved the problem in less than 20 minutes since they sent a message, but they didn't appreciated that at all, they just think hosts should have everything in mind and that no problems might happen at all. I mean, even at a hotel things can happen.  Horrible people.

@Daniela241 I can understand this as it’s standard in a lot of Spaces in Ecuador as well. I would suggest you put this in the house rules as to avoid any further issues from guests like those.

I wish you all the best and your place looks amazing! 🙂

@Daniela241 you should probably update your house rules as @Yadira22 suggested. I would have the same reaction as the 2 Aussie girls if I was told I needed to leave my ID with someone. I have always been told as a traveller not to leave my passport or any form of ID with anyone & it would stress me to be in a situation where I had to leave it with a stranger.

Thanks for your answers, I now send a message with the rules previous to the guest arrival, I totaly understood the situation and didn't ask them to leave an ID. What annoys me is that I did my best to solve it and they didn't appreciated it at all!! I mean, if you go to another country you might find different rules or lifestyles!!
